Dantoy Bioplastic Playset #AD

Edith has started playing role play games and loves anything where she can feed her “babies”, she currently has a wooden play kitchen but I didn’t want anything that was plastic because I am trying to be more responsible for our plastic consumption so if I can exchange an item I will! Obviously it’s not always possible as kids always want the next trend.

We have been lucky enough to be sent the Dantoy Bioplastic kitchen playset. Bioplastic is 90% Bioplastic which is 100% recyclable and 100% Renewable raw material. There is a great image of the lifecycle of Bioplastic and how it uses Sugarcane.

Dantoy leads the way with their bioplastics. The manufacture of bioplastics reduces carbon emissions. The sugarcane is cultivated on controlled, pesticide-free plantations in central and southern Brazil. The sugarcane is harvested every 6 – 12 months. Bioplastic made of sugarcane is a 100% sustainable raw material.

Sugarcane can be harvested several times a year. New sugarcane plants are planted every five to seven years. The fields are harvested every six to twelve months enabling them to be classified as a sustainable raw material. Sugarcane absorbs carbon dioxide from the air, thereby minimising the greenhouse effect. For the manufacture of bioplastic, the carbon emissions accounts are positive from the budding of the plant until it is manufactured into bioplastic. For each kilo of manufactured bioplastic, 3.09 kg of carbon dioxide are removed from the atmosphere

Traditional plastic is made from crude oil, whilst dantoy “I’m Green” PE (bioplastic) is made from at least 90% sugarcane (ethanol). Ethanol, a form of alcohol, is extracted from sugarcane, after which it is used to make bioplastic.

The set comes with a lidded pot, plates, cups spoons, knives and forks. They are all in a lovely calming colour range which is perfect for both girls and boys. The item comes in a fully recyclable box too.

As you can see Edith is 1 years old and doesn’t play very conventionally! She loves to feed her babies and “make tea”. As all the items are large and there’s no small bits they are perfect for smaller children who love make believe play.

The items are also extremely durable- my kids are both climbers and like to stand on all of their toys- these have survived and not many do!!!

Erin has also been using these which is great as it means it will have a long life in our house. Erin is 8 yrs old and she has been loving playing with her sister and making mud pies in her mud kitchen and plating them up for me to eat!!! Which is always Great for me for me!! Ha!

Dantoy have a great range of products that are recyclable and made of Bioplastic so we will definitely look to increase our toy range. You can check out the range here.
