Bottoms up for Bepanthen #Britmums #Ad #Bepanthenprotects

This post is an entry for the #Bepantenprotects challenge, sponsored by Bepanthen. Learn more about how to protect baby’s sensitive skin on Bepanthen.

As a mum of two girls aged 6 and 2 months nappy rash has been a problem for several years.

Erin my eldest was a fast teether and by 3 months old had two teeth! By 12 months she had a full set but this meant that her bum suffered.

Her poo became full of mucous and her bum became red raw. I was forever looking for a solution. I tried so many things that either left clothes stained or was so thick it needed wiping off at every change.

Nappy rash will happen to most babies in the first 12 months and is caused by several factors including- tight nappies, more frequent stools, eczema, teething and weaning amongst others. This can cause discomfort and sometimes your little ones bum to bleed causing pain and sleepless nights all round.

Thankfully this time around Bepanthen has been welcomed into our house with open arms.

Bepanthen has been a staple in our house for the last month and I can confirm I love it. Not only does it protect little bums but comes in two handy sizes- a larger one for in the house and a smaller one for on the go.

Edith started to have a raw bum after she decided that poo explosions were her thing! So not only were we changing clothes several times a day but it was covering her entire bum.

When we started to try Bepanthen I left one on my changing table and one in my bag so I always had one to hand.

The cream comes out as a white cream but goes clear and doesn’t stick like tar which I love as it makes the next nappy change simple. I used a thin layer of Bepanthen at every nappy change to protect Edie’s bum with a breathable layer, from the irritants of wee and poo that her delicate skin was exposed to daily.

A baby’s skin is 40% thinner and softer than that of an adult so it is more sensitive. Bepanthen can be used from birth which is perfect to start the protection straight away.

Bepanthen prides itself on its “kind to skin” formulation which includes:

  • No frangrances or colours
  • No preservatives or parabens
  • No antiseptics
  • Bepanthen contains Provitamin B5 which helps skin repair its natural barrier- this ensures that your babies body is protected at every change.
  • Edith is now loving her new nappy routine as it means she is rash free and no longer sore. Her bum feels protected and clean at every change and I no longer fear the teething rash that occurred with Erin as I know that she will be already prepared.
