Traditions and fun for Christmas!

I am an organiser!! Anyone who knows me, understands that you will get a message saying “what does your child want for Christmas” in September! I like to have everything in place including the traditions that I have set in place for the last few years.

Since erin was about 3 I started a few traditions- yep one of them was REALLY silly! As I now have to remember all the time! Especially now having Edith too! Elf on the Shelf!!! ?

The Elf appears on the first of December having written a note and brings the advent calendars. So Erin thinks he appears and gets up to mischief ALL month! Yep!! Doh!

The elf not only writes a note everyday about behaviour but he also brings our Christmas Eve Box. Now for years I have had a different Christmas Eve box mainly because the ones I have bought over the years have been cheap tat!! Therefore haven’t lasted and I have ended up throwing them away at the end of the year.

This year I wanted something better. Something that was going to get both girls through the years of “belief”. I knew what I wanted.

In September I used The Enchanted Wood Company for the flower wall at our wedding and it was gorgeous! The Enchanted Wood Company are fun by a husband and wife team with an eye for detail. Since I have followed their Instagram and I knew they were the ones to fulfil my Christmas Eve box dreams!!! I contacted the owner Jade and she understood the brief instantly. She loves glitter as much as me and made me a gorgeous Christmas Eve box for both the girls!! (She can make them without glitter too with a slightly different design!! I just ADORE the stuff!).

I paid £18.99 per box plus p & p (glitter in the snowflakes is a little extra) which is great for a large wooden box as I had looked online and they range from £20-£49!!!!! Which is ridiculous for something you use one night a year?!?

The boxes are really good quality and will last for years, the Glitter really pops against the wood which is one of my favourite parts they are traditional with a flare of modern are both personalised with the girls initial and name and so cute as you can see! There’s room for everything I want to put in them- I always include pjs, hot choc, a book, DVD, reindeer food and a snack. There’s a small latch which is perfect for keeping everything in.

Jade also gifted us a gorgeous “santa stop here for Erin” as an addition treat for buying the box so this will be included in our Christmas Eve box too and part of our traditions. Our Elf will not only bring these but he goes home in the boxes on Christmas Eve too! And then Christmas Day all normality has been restored! And I don’t have to have an elf alarm anymore!! I love the my Christmas Eve box tradition and everything that comes in it but I kind of wish the bloody elf didn’t bring it!! ? my advice is go for a box but forget the Elf!!
