Comfy Degree Waterproof Changing Bag-

Now normally I have a large handbag style changing bag which I love- it is great for day to day but not very good for when we go on holiday and need more of a backpack style bag. This Comfy Degree bag is not only a standard changing bag but includes so much more. The bag features-

  • An electric bottle warmer charged from a battery pack (battery pack is supplied by you)
  • 3 Insulated bottle pockets
  • Mesh pockets
  • Tissue pocket
  • Adjustable buckles, strong zips, and rivet reinforcement including pushchair clips
  • USB socket ready for phone charging which is ideal on holidays
  • waterproof exterior and is 41cm tall, 27cm long and 15.5cm wide and a volume of 23.8L
  • lots of interior pockets and changing mat included
  • All in all this bag is fantastic for holidays and can hold so much stuff we will certainly get our use out of it. You can get yours here.
  • Swimwear-

I always remember my dad saying to me that when you go on holiday as long as you pack swimwear you can buy everything else! (Im not sure he was talking about travelling with kids, but hey ho!) Anyway the key to a good holiday is feeling great in lovely swimwear. I always find that after a baby the bikini fear is real! Paying for a cheap bikini is never going to do you any favours as it will make you feel as awful as the material. I have got these two gorgeous bikinis gifted from UK Swimwear and I love them! Dare I say it but I even feel nice in them! They have an amazing selection to choose from and even have accessories to choose from too.

    Sunscreen-

Sunscreen is a must! We are heading to Dubai so its going to hot hot hot! And with two kids we need to make sure they are protected let alone us. MooGoo have been able to cover all bases in this amazing smelling sun screen SPF30 all completely Natural. Doesn’t make you look like a ghost as it rubs in clear and perfect for kids as there are no chemical UV filters so great for sensitive skin. MooGoo do a fantastic range including this SPF15 moisturiser which I have been using daily to protect my skin from sun damage whilst I am at home. Head to www.moogooskincare.co.uk for the full range including hair care, baby care and specialist products,

    Insect Repellent-

Another of those pesky problems when you go abroad is Insects- they like to bite and make you uncomfortable its bad enough when you have one but when your baby has a bite its horrendous- crying because they are uncomfortable as all they want to do is itch. So whats better than cure? Prevention!

A safe, clinically tested way to deal with pesky mozzie and other insect bites is to useZap-It! – a small but effective piezo (meaning to squeeze or press) device that generates a harmless and mild (no stronger than a gentle pinch) low electrical impulse created by crystals (this same technology is commonly used in clocks, lighters and guitar pickups) to deliver harmless little ‘zaps’ which stops the itching and urge to scratch in minutes.Zap-It! can be used as and when required by all the family, but not on babies under 4 years of age. Each Zap-It! will relieve up to 1,000 bites – enough for many years of bites or itches! Zap-It! is available from selected health stores, pharmacies, garden centres, all Asda shops and Superdrug, and retails from £5.95. Zap-It! is also available online from www.amazon.co.uk

DEET-free and suitable for all ages, babies included, Vie Healthcare’s Spray On Mosquito and Insect Repellent is the latest addition to their range of family-friendly repellents.Active ingredients include menthane and coconut oil. Simply shake gently and spray directly on to skin to help keep biting insects and mosquitoes at bay! Each spray costs £7.95 for 100ml and is available from www.amazon.co.uk.

Already bitten? Roll away the itch with Vie Healthcare’s After Bite Roll-On. All natural and ammonia-free, this extra gentle roll-on formulation is suitable for the most sensitive of skins, including babies.Active ingredients include aloe vera, chamomile, calendula and mallow. Simply roll over the affected area for immediate relief. Vie Healthcare’s After Bite Roll-On costs £3.95 for 20ml and is available from www.amazon.co.uk.

Both their repellent spray and after bite roll-on come in handy travel sizes, well within the restrictions for hand luggage, and ideal for squeezing into your beach bag or handbag!

DEET-free and suitable for all ages, Mosquitan Mosquito Patches use a patented ‘stick and squeeze’ delivery system to help keep mosquitoes at bay. Each patch contains a small cushion plaster filled with microcapsules of essential oils. You simply stick and squeeze!Once squeezed patches last for up to six hours and because they do not need to be applied to the skin, they provide a natural anti-mosquito alternative that’s safe to use for the whole family. Mosquitan Mosquito Patches cost £8.95 for 24 patches and are available from www.vie-healthcare.com

    Travel adapters

Do you remember the times when we had one travel adapter and that would do? yep me too. A time before phones, cameras, ipads and travelling the world instead of just to spain. Thankfully this iBlockcube is genius. it not only has a C port, but it also has 4 USB ports! So no more finding 6 plug sockets for all of your items! It covers UK, EU and America/Australia so is perfect for frequent travellers. It even comes in this snazzy leather bag so you don’t lose it. If you want to get yours head to iBlockCube.

    Keeping Kids Entertained

Now this is an important one for me! Keeping a child or baby entertained on a flight is a must- you don’t want to hear tears or ‘I’m bored’ every ten minutes and neither do the other passengers, so try your best to keep them entertained. I always take a selection of new things to keep the kids entertained along with activity books and all the other things you may need such as snack etc.

We have kindly been gifted this fantastic Peppa pig phone for Edith as she is already hooked on Peppa Pig. The phone is colourful, bright, makes noises and also teaches little ones colours and numbers. Even better its really compact so is perfect to slide into your changing bag ready for the flight. It flips open and closed and only takes 2 AA batteries so isnt fiddly to replace those either. You can buy yours here.

Stabilo Cappi 12 pens are a genius invention as they are pens on a string, when travelling lids get lost and roll about all over the place, these ingenius pens solve that problem by keeping the lids on the string loop. Not only that but you can also clip them to bags so they are easy to find, perfect for a bit of colouring to make your trip go faster. Check them out here.

Erin loves ‘Surprise’ toys so Wild Cakes are great for her. Again they are compact and dont come with too much packaging which is great for the plane. With 12 to collect these cute little ‘cakes’ turn into a cute cuddly toy with a tug of velcro. Perfect for snuggling when you get to your destination as well! if you want to try and collect them all you can here.

    In Room Toys-

Again it’s important to make the hotel feel like home. For Edith I will be taking a portable mobile which can be adjusted to size as well as being clipped to changing tables or cots, to give her a sense of home and comfort. The Hape Wooden Colourful mobile is compact for packing and is sturdy in to enable you to pack or without fear of breaking it. It even features a cute musical box that you are able to wind up to ease baby into its surroundings. To get yours check them out here.

We are also going to take the Hape wooden books- both Erin and Edith love these are they are entertaining as well as a bed time read. They have really bright beautiful illustrations and is made of sturdy wood so won’t get damaged and it is ok for baby to gnaw on when those nasty teeth give them problems. You can buy this from amazon.

    Steriliser-

Last but not least when taking a bottle fed baby away my panic was how on earth do i sterilise her bottles?! what will ensure I am able to safely clean her equipment and not take up too much space in the case or need anything other than cold water. Milton came to my rescue with this fantastic combi Steriliser. Not only does it include 28 sterilising tablet and tongs to pick out the items but you can pack it without alot of room being taken up as what I have done is taken off the lid and filled it with rolled up bibs and vests, I would be taking these any way so I havent taken up alot of room which is perfect. Check them out here.
