Date Night at Burlington’s Restaurant- Beech Hill Hotel and Spa

We were lucky enough to be asked to review the Beech Hill Hotel and Spa and included in that was a complimentary 3 course meal at the hotels restaurant.

We booked our reservation for 7pm and made our way to the restaurant which is only a very short walk from the rooms near the reception.

We were seated in a waiting area and offered canapés and drinks. The canapés were: Smoked salmon, tortilla break sticks and a duck liver pate. Just enough to entice you for more whilst you wait and decide what to order. The staff then came and took our order for our first two courses.

We were then showed to our table in the restaurant. The area was spacious and not overcrowded with white linen table cloths and attentive service from the staff.

We were then given warm breads, oil and balsamic vinegar and butter, whilst we waited for our food.

For starters I ordered mussels and Matt ordered smoked ham hock terrine. The food came and were perfectly sized. I really enjoyed my starter it was delicious, unfortunately Matts starter wasn’t fully set and this unfortunately made it a bit bland.

Next was our main course, I had Lamb with fondant potatoes and a minted gravy. Matt ordered sirloin steak and chips- both were really tasty and were piping hot. Matt ordered his steak blue and it came medium but tasted lovely all the same.

Finally for dessert I ordered vanilla ice cream and Matt ordered the cheese board. Both were lovely and Matts cheese board was huge and came with port, crackers, celery, chutney and apple.

Overall the food was really nice and not a bad price at all. The staff were attentive, the restaurant was nicely decorated and spacious.

All of the food came in a timely manner and was piping hot. I really enjoyed our night and Matt made me laugh constantly so was lovely to have dinner just the two of us.
