Tuppy, Willy, Vagina, Penis- What’s right, what’s wrong?

There is always a lot of controversy about what people call their children’s lower regions. Are you supposed to say Vagina and Penis or can you say other things? Is it acceptable to call it whatever you fancy or does this cause your child problems?

In our house, we call it Tuppy and Winky. Which does then freak me out when my auntie calls Erin tuppence HA! I have had the conversation many times with my friends and we have never come up with a conclusion!

I threw it out there with my blogging friends and here’s what they had to say;

  • Fran from Whinge Whinge Wine  calls them ‘Bits & Willy’ I know you’re supposed to be honest and say the real words but I never have and I don’t use them as an adult and I’m fairly normal.

  • Nikki from Yorkshire Wonders said; We can them willy, peanuts and foo-foo. When I was little it was referred to as my ‘Mary-Ellen’. I could never watch the Walton’s without sniggering!!

  • Anna from Meannie Bee= Fu-fu and willy. Or vajayjay if I’m speaking about mine. Which I don’t do often.

  • Laura from Saving 4 Savvy Mums =Penis and Vulva here. 😂 The kids love saying their Vulva hurts in a quiet restaurant.

  •  Emma from Emma Reed  =Willy for my son and we say fru fru for mine because I just don’t want to hear him say vagina.

  • Erica From The incidental Parent= Willy, pee pee or zizi! (the restaurant is interesting) I don’t call mine anything as I’ve had no need to yet.

  • Jenni from Chilling with Lucas= Willy or winki and vee vee or front bum

  • Alice from Living with a Jude= Elsa currently finds body parts hilarious and will whisper the names quietly as she’s embarrassed. She calls them a willy and “your bits” haha

  • Donna From The Sleep Thief’s mummy= Willy – I’ve managed to avoid vagina so far sticking with bum, but will probably just call it a vagina.

  • Lisa from Pass the prosseco please= The Colonel and Foo. Although my friends little girl once in a packed shopping centre told me how when she grew up she would have a really hairy CLITORIS like her mum

  • Suzanne from At Another Ten Things = Penis and vaginas (should probably say vulva really) sometimes willies and fannies.

  • Sarah from Tammy mum = we’re twinkle and willy – no idea why twinkle, Mark started it, that’s probably worse.

  • Jessica from Beauties & the Bibs= We call it Mary & Willy. I don’t even know why if i am honest, it just came naturally, especially now Ava has a brother and she is differentiating between boys and girls.

Apart from chuckling at some of these genius names, its also made me realise there isn’t one set name! everyone seems to be different. The question is what is right?
