Elastoplast #Tearsintosmiles with Britmums

When I was little my uncle used to walk along the edge of the cliffs in Wales holding the hood of my coat… to which my auntie would ask ‘why are you doing that’ he would respond with ‘she’s not ours and she’s so bloody clumsy. I don’t want to be explaining to her mum that she fell off a cliff!!’. Unfortunately Erin has inherited my clumsiness and is forever falling over- between us we form a clumsy double act.
Let me take you back to the first day back to school after the bank holiday weekend. Erin is walking out of school with the teacher five minutes after everyone else. My first thought is oh god how long was she on the naughty square today?! Until I saw her head…. The humongous bump and scrape on her head. There were a lot of tears at the time but then she seemed quite proud of it as you can see;
When we got home Erin did her normal clumsy thing and scraped her new graze on the edge of her bed and made it bleed. She was NOT happy!!!! So I suggested we use a plaster to protect it for a day or two whilst it healed. She was up for this once I told her it wouldn’t hurt. She chose a Frozen plaster from Elastoplast. Once the plaster was on she was still being a grumpy sod as usual after an injury and I needed a way of cheering her up. Distraction techniques are my go to solution. I suggested we go outside and play some games. We got ring toss, and hopscotch out and started to play, within one minute Erin had been completely distracted and started laughing. My godchildren Maisie and Billy turned up and they took over playing the game and had great fun. She had been so distracted that when I asked her how her head was she said ‘why what’s wrong with it!’.
Yet again Elastoplast saved the day. We were lucky enough to be sent Elastoplast’s character plasters in Star Wars and Frozen which since I have caught Matthew with two Star Wars plasters on injuries! They are a hit throughout the family!
