Christmas

The Elf on the Shelf ® craze to hit the united kingdom next month!

Months leading up to Christmas and you start to wonder what ‘elf on the shelf’ is when it is pinned all over everybody’s Pinterest boards. I have watched on in Awe trying to fathom what the purpose of the elf was and how it all works and what has made it so popular!

Erin and I were sent a Scout Elf from the North Pole by The Elf on the Shelf® to help Santa manage his naughty and nice lists. When we received the Scout Elf we were its new adoptive family and we were asked to give him a name which Erin chose ‘Sandy’.  Every night the scout Elf has Christmas magic which enables him to fly to the North Pole to inform Santa of all the day’s adventure and behaviour of your child. The scout elf then returns and places himself in a different place every day to watch the child’s behaviour. Erin thought it was great to run around the house every morning to see where her scout Elf was watching her that day! Scout Elves normally appear on the 1st December to enable them to stay during the whole of Advent and inform Santa of any necessary information! On Christmas Eve Santa Collects the Scout Elf and returns him to the North Pole.

There are two simple rules that every child knows when it comes to having a scout elf. First, a scout elf cannot be touched; Christmas magic is very fragile and if a scout elf is touched it may lose that magic and be unable to fly back to the North Pole. Second, a scout elf cannot speak or move while anyone in the house is awake! A scout elf’s job is to watch and listen.

The pack contains;

 The Elf on the Shelf®: A Christmas Tradition hardbound children’s book- which explains all about the Scout elf and to help children from a young age understand the concept.
– One of Santa’s special scout elves- these come in different skin tones and genders designed to be specific for each child.
