12 Days of Parenting

Wednesday 16th – On the fourth day of Christmas – Our family traditions

Day 4- 12 Days of Parenting- Enter our Grand prize Draw at the bottom using the code word- Tradition

Every year since Erin was born I have been trying to set our family traditions in stone-. I think this year is the year! The one thing I have always done even BC (before child) is gone to the local Christmas tree farm that have donkeys and a nativity and makes sure you know Christmas is on the way- This is definitely one I have kept from my childhood and is here to stay.

Last year we introduced the ‘Christmas Eve Box’ which I made my own- This year we have been lucky enough to have the chance to review a box from ‘The Christmas Eve Box’ which we loved!! The link to our review-http://glossytots.blogspot.com/2015/11/the-christmas-eve-box-review.html

We have also jumped on the ‘elf on the shelf craze’ we have been lucky enough to review the Elf on the Shelf Package from ‘The Cheeky Elf’ (our review http://glossytots.blogspot.com/2015/11/a-cheeky-elf-for-cheeky-toddler.html )and the original Elf on the Shelf (review-http://glossytots.blogspot.com/2015/11/the-elf-on-shelf-craze-to-hit-united.html) so these will become a big part of our Christmas preparations.

Other items that are part of our Christmas traditions are Advent Calendars- but this year we have gone for Playdoh instead of chocolate, we always seem to forget the chocolate and it only lasts a mouthful! For £10.99 we decided to try the Playdoh calendar that comes with 6 pots and tools- I figured this would last much longer and have more of an element of fun to it!

On Christmas Eve we also put our treats out for Santa and we also have a key as we don’t have a fireplace that we can leave out for Santa

Other than this the only important thing we do is write Erin’s Christmas list, normally very long and drawn out process with a lot of £££ involved! But again all part of the magic.
